| Vantage Builders, Inc. Recognized for Safety Excellence by Associated Builders and Contractors
Burlington , MA – June 6, 2006 -- Associated Builders and Contractors, Massachusetts Chapter (ABC), the largest construction trade association in Commonwealth, awarded Vantage Builders, Inc. with its national Safety Training and Evaluation Program (STEP) “Gold” award for 2005. STEP awards are presented to those companies recognized as having an outstanding commitment to jobsite safety. Awards were handed out to member companies at a May 25, 2006 ceremony at the Montvale Plaza in Stoneham, with feature speaker, State Representative James Vallee, D-Franklin.
The STEP process provides a unique approach to recognizing the safety achievements of ABC member firms. Two important criteria are taken into consideration for the award: (1) statistical information such as incident rates, lost time, company MOD, and OSHA records during 2005, and (2) a safety audit consisting of twenty key components of a company safety program. This information is an important part of the scoring, and also tells the company where they stand and to what level they can “STEP up” to. The STEP program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors. The program benefits include: • An organized approach for analyzing and developing safety and loss prevention programs • A valid, objective method for measuring safety program improvements • A safety performance recognition useful in business development For more information on ABC, please visit abcma.org or call 781-273-0123. It has spent the past 35 years fulfilling its founders' mission of promoting and advancing the merit construction industry and its philosophy that all construction contracts, both public and private, should be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, regardless of labor affiliation. 1> Back | ![]() ![]() |
